Back In [the AUCW] Business, Via Dove are on a mission to show St. Louis that despite the heat, Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be, as AC/DC, September 9th, as a part of AUCW5 Night 1.
They say It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll) but since coming on to the St. Louis music scene, Via Dove have been a literal Rock ‘n’ Roll Train all of the way down the Highway To Hell. And, Spoilin’ for a Fight the Via Dove crew are ready to Get It Hot on September 9th.
You have the “Live Wire” Aaron Vaught filling in for Angus Young on lead guitar, the “Ballbreaker” Mike North taking over for Cliff Williams on bass, the “Rock ‘n’ Roll Singer” Andy Shadburne in for Bon Scott/Brian Johnson on vocals, the “Boogie Man” Reid Burnett in place of Phil Rudd on drums, and no strangers to recruiting Guns For Hire for AUCW, they’ve enlisted “The Furor” Mike Tomko to stand in for Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar. Needless to say, Via Dove have assembled their War Machine and they Shoot To Thrill.
Having scrapped an album already in the can in favor of writing an entirely new record that was more inspired by their 2009 AUCW performance as The Rolling Stones, Via Dove released the fantastic ‘El Mundo Latino‘ last October.
This year will mark Via Dove’s 3rd appearance at An Under Cover Weekend and their past 2 performances will go down as some of the best in AUCW history — the previously mentioned take on The Rolling Stones in 2009, as well as a stint in 2010 as Pearl Jam. That said, we have absolutely no doubt that come Hell or High Water Via Dove will leave night 1 of AUCW5 completely Thunderstruck.
Tune in tomorrow for the big announcement of our only other 3-year AUCW alums, The Orbz‘s AUCW5 tribute!
